ProSuitability comes from years of writing and reviewing suitability reports in UK financial advice.
In 2004, we began a collaborative venture with The Exchange and 1st Software to develop an exciting new suitability report writing software tool, adapted specifically to the needs of the IFA community. We then became the first founder partner, with The Exchange and 1st Software, in creating e-Suitability — a new desktop app which delivered ease and consistency to the creation of Suitability Reports.
Since our former partnership ended, our team tirelessly redeveloped the entire core software from scratch. We developed an entirely fresh schema design which affords a step change improvement in the potential for rich personalised content.
Yet the authoring tool will look instantly familiar to former users of the legacy software.
Our approach
ProSuitability aims to reduce the time taken to produce a high quality Suitability Report to approximately 15 minutes per product recommendation plus a small amount of additional time to create a brief statement of the client needs and demands. What used to be a complex, taxing, and tiring task is reduced to one that is straightforward, consistent and stress free.
The system reduces to a minimum the number of choices necessary to produce an assuredly compliant report of high quality together with an indexed table of contents. The output is styled as a report rather than a letter.
The FSA’s core requirement that a suitability report should be personalised to an individual client’s needs and circumstances is addressed in two ways. Firstly, the text library is sufficiently large to make it possible to produce a large variety of letter content through the use of automated features embedded in the software. Secondly, in every report, a number of opportunities are provided to manually insert text which links the recommendation more tightly to an individual situation.
